I saved $28 dollars by purchasing all four of these Kat Von D eyeshadow quads on sale.
Nevermind that I spent $60 that I did not need to spend on them – I basically got them all for free. At least that’s what I’ll tell hubby if he asks. I had my eye on the Sage when it came out, but somehow could not justify the $22 price tag for four shadows, when I was really only excited about that deeeeeep green. $22 single shadow? No thanks.
Hello, new friend
But somehow the world changes when you chop a few dollars off that price. I lose my mind and just order all of them, despite really only being interested in maybe two of the four. The plum was also tickling my fancy. That deep plum shade just does something for me.
They look so good together, though.
But you know what? I am glad I did. I’ve spent $60 on a palette before, and probably will again. They don’t always come with 16 shadows, so honestly – I came out on top. Plus, I get to pretend I did it for the blog, so I have something to write about, and not just because I’m a greedy little girl who wants it alllllll. But since I’ve taken all of these photos and swatches, how about I introduce you to the rest of the gang?
Gah! I came so close to all of these shots lining up perfectly.
Every single one of these eyeshadows is super pigmented and buttery, in true Kat Von D fashion. Only a few shades in the Metal Matte Palette have ever let me down – and those were metallic, which can be a bit tricky, so I’ve forgiven Kat. You can’t knock 100% of everything out of the park.
Clockwise from top left: Smoke, Sage, Plum, Rust
The only complaint that I have is that there is little to no variation between the four highlight colors. Obviously, the lighter you go with a shadow – the less any difference in color will show up, but I feel like an entire quad is wasted on these shades that are kinda-sorta different from each other, but not really. Haha, and if that is my only complaint – I think we’re in good shape!
Did you guys grab any of these while they were on sale? Which did you get?
